ABOUT THE INTENSIVE
This intensive is about Foundations & Flow & Freedom : how fundamental movements give birth to a living, continuous, and conscious dance. Simple and complex, slow and fast. We will explore how to easily and naturally connect fundamental figures with flow, moving from basic steps to toualhas, while maintaining clarity and freedom of movement.
The intensive brings together connection, technique, and musicality. Our goal is not memorizing shapes, but understanding the principles that allow the dance to flow from the feet through the whole body and back again, remaining comfortable, stable, and filled with pleasure.
WHO IS THIS INTENSIVE FOR?
This intensive is for leaders and followers, dancers of any level (open level) who want to deepen their understanding of the dance, make it more flowy, confident, and conscious, expand their movement vocabulary, and at the same time preserve freedom and naturalness in the partnership.
Minimum level: basic foundations.
The open level is chosen intentionally, every participant, regardless of experience, will find valuable, practical, and new tools for their dance.
HOW IS IT STRUCTURED
The format of the intensive is maximum practice.
We focus on embodied understanding through direct experience: movement is lived, felt, and gradually “switches on” from within. Fewer words: more movement; preparatory exercises, working with questions that help you listen to the body, and live feedback in the moment so you can immediately feel what is happening and where to go next. Practice includes both solo and partner work.
DAILY SCHEDULE
DO I NEED EXPERIENCE?
Yes, basic familiarity with the dance is required. What matters is not the number of years dancing, but the willingness to explore movement more deeply, to feel the body and the interaction, and to stay open to the process. Curiosity and the desire to move are key elements of this intensive.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Over three days and 12 hours, we will go through several interconnected blocks.
Day 1: Foundations, connection, flow.
Working with the body and fundamentals, understanding connections, space, and shapes, interaction with the floor, steps, and waves. Preparing the body for flow. We will touch the depth of connection and explore how to maintain flow, clarity, and comfort in the couple by linking fundamental movements, their inversions, and transitions into one continuous dance.
Day 2: Principles of flow dancing.
Head movements integrated into basic and inverted fundamentals. Work on styling and self-expression without losing flow and connection.
Day 3: Shadow position and expansion of flow.
Comfortable and fluid shadow position, accent movements, footwork, as well as the basics of counterbalance that enhance depth and flow in the dance.

WHAT WILL YOU WALK AWAY WITH
After the intensive, your dance becomes more confident and stable, a deeper understanding of your body appears, along with greater self-connection. Sensitivity to your partner increases, a clear sense of the floor and the music emerges, and the process itself becomes filled with joy and pleasure. Turning the dance into an experience of flow rather than simply performing movements.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
We recommend comfortable clothing that does not distract or require constant adjustment, dance shoes or socks, as well as water, deodorant, and breath freshener, so you can feel comfortable and confident throughout the classes.
